How much did you pay for your Jag? (fun survey - % of value when new)

I paid 19% of the MSRP a year ago for my '01 VDP with 48K on the clock. Have spent about $2K so far. I consider my purchase a bargain and this is the finest car I have ever owned. This is my second Jag, the first one being a brand new '54 XK-120M roadster for which I paid about $3500.!!!
What kind of things did you do that totaled $2,000?
Just curious what others need to do after they buy theirs.
Thank you...

1stjag,
I agree with you - Jag's are near free when comparing them to other high end cars or even imports from Japan. For the cost of my low mile XJR, if it becomes a problem, I'll pitch it and get another one. All my cars are paid in full when I buy them, I tend to keep cars longer than most. The XJR will cost me 108/month if I own it for 3 years, will be lower if I hold it longer, which I will. Compare that to my Tahoe which I bought new 11 years ago and the XJR is about 1/2 of the monthly cost to me, averaged over the life of ownership.
What type of car would i get if I bought a car and paid $108 monthly? I'd guess it would be today's pinto, perhaps the aztek or even worse. No thanks, I'll take the Jag all day long.

Last Tuesday, I bought an '02 XJ8 base, with 52314 original miles. Garage-kept beauty, interior in immaculate condition other than three cracks in the urethane finishing of the front doors' wood trim, and a bulb out on the climate control display (of which there is an excellent replacement video on YouTube - thank you!).
Excluding an after-market warranty (you know, just in case the transmission goes), I paid 13.78% of MSRP, which DOES include the fresh set of Primacy MXV4's I put on her on Saturday morning.
I could not be more thrilled.
I will care for her, and treat her well, and hope to get many years of great service and enjoyment.

I bought my wife's 99 XJ8L for our anniversary 12 years ago from the Jag dealer. Paid $16,500.00 for it with the select addition warranty. One week later it got hot and went into limp home mode. Under warranty the dealership replaced the thermostat. So while they had it I asked them to check the tensioners. Sure enough they were cracked. So while they had the front of the engine opened up I asked if the water pump should be replaced with the newer styles. They said "sure" so 0$ later we had all the known engine problems fixed under the select addition warranty. It now has 104,000 miles on it with only one new set of tires 5 years ago, 1 new battery last year, and I just replaced the front rotors and all new pads. I can't get her to trade up to the last year of the 308's. She said she won't part with it. Best gift I ever gave her.
only reason our cars are not in the garage, we are having new wood floors installed and everything is in the garage.

1997 XJ6 with 63,500 miles for $3,500 from the original owner, my father. It has several leaking hoses that need replacement and the 60,000 mile service has not been done to it, so we shall see what cost that turns out to be. I am expecting $1,000 before hunting down a squeak in the left side suspension. The car is in pretty good shape, and I have no intention of selling it, ever.

Using the $51,000 as the cost(since it's unknown) looks like I paid about 6% of the new SLP. 2000 XJ8 w/141000 great shape all maintenance records all problems areas addressed, new front seat leathers. So far I had the alternator rebuilt, changed oil and all filters. Clay bar and wax. Not bad. On recent trip of maybe 70% freeway 30% city driving averaged about 23.7 MPG. On the highway part for the 160 miles avg 24.9....

Bought 2001 XJR in 2005 for 30% of original cost . 5200 miles. Just turned over 87,000 miles. Has been a pleasure owning and would purchase same series if it needed replacing.
