Default How to put a 2001 xjr engine into a 1998 xjr

Hi all. I recenctly took on a big project for the first time and i am also very new to jaguars. I have a 1998 jaguar it had a blown head gasket so i put a new engine in from 2001 jaguar xjr . The engine went in just fine ,but woulnt start. I know i either need to take some of the parts from the old engine and put them on the new one , or get ecu/pcm/immos ect... from a 2001 but im not sure what i need to do. Please let me know what i need to do to make it run thank you.

I NEVER say Driver's or Passenger's without qualifying which Country that you are talking about.
Ask someone in the UK or Australia which is the driver's side??????????

You need to keep reading and understand all the differences between the engines.
All the Intake Cams have a different number of lobes for the CMPS for the different Engine Management systems.

G'day Bob.....I had to have a quiet chuckle over this ;o)
The Pom's make it more difficult for us all by calling the RHS the 'near side'
and the LHS the 'off side'.....(all positions as seen from the drivers seat)
And you lot confuse things even more by calling a car manufactured in '98
a '99 model and so on.....we're simple folk down here and like the KISS principle ;o]P
