How to wire remote on switch for radiator fans?
I'm curious how I would wire a remote switch from the cabin to allow me to run the radiator fans with a switch from the cabin.
I tried, using a relay that is only on with key on as a source of power, with a 30 amp fuse, wired directly to the fans. I was able to get the top fan to turn on doing this, but it ran very fast (full tilt) and at one point blew the 30 A fuse. I was not able to wire it to get both fans running.
Rather than continue to experiment, I thought that someone here must have done this successfully and could tell me how.
I did wire a 10" 500 cfm pusher fan in front of my inter cooler radiator, and that seemed to help. I ran the 1/4 mile yesterday at 13.2 @ 105 mph and had no heat soak power fade during any of my 3 runs.
