For a year now I have had this problem it is getting much worst. I haven't been able to get anyone to say there is something wrong. When I step on the gas at a stop the car will jerk forward. If I let off the gas while driving and hit the gas there is a funny feeling in the rear of the car. When driving on the freeway the car seems to have a mind of its own. There rear seems to want to go to the side, I am also correcting.
Thanks for your help

Depends, you have to have some slack in the drive train. Mainly the ring and pinion and spider gears in the diff. None in the ujoints or jurid couplings.
Seldom do i ever see a bad u joint, so i would say to check the driveshaft jurid couplings where the shaft attaches at the diff and the trans. They tend to break/crack with time and mileage since theyre rubber. Thats about all i can say since you didnt include yr or mileage. And i assume its a xj8 since youre in that section

Damn, of all the cars they couldve crashed, it had to be an xj8 ![Frown](https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/images/smilies/frown.gif)
EDIT: I would check the knuckle bushings in the rear. If it is walking, something has play in it. Get the rear tires off the ground and try to wiggle them all directions. This may allow you to see what has developed slack. Good luck.
