I washed the jag key

Urgently fixed why? You can manually use your key while orchestrating the fix (or money to replace it) of your fob (if possible).
May I suggest reviewing this from the How To section (listed in my sig)... https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...ir-kit-177521/

I know there's another thread on this where they broke the key apart at the module so you could see what it is. But since I can't find that, this one may give you a better idea at least. https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...uctions-90880/

Here's a simple definition of how that module works in cohesion with your ignition:
So as long as your module is good and only coated with the water, drying it should alleviate the problem.
- Simplified: Once the key is inserted into the ignition lock and turned the ‘on’ or ‘run’ positions, the induction coil mounted around the ignition lock sends out an electromagnet field of energy. The windings in the transponder chip absorb that energy, power the electronic chip to emit a signal (usually an alphanumeric code). The induction coil reads the signal and sends it to ECU to recognize the signal. If the signal is recognized, the signal is accepted and car starts.
So as long as your module is good and only coated with the water, drying it should alleviate the problem.

Here's what's inside, next to a standard toothpick. Looks sealed in a capsule so it is not clear how water would go in. Possibly, it is water inside the key head surrounding the capsule and blocking/absorbing the radio waves. Another possibility is that the temperature inside the washing machine damaged/melted the plastic capsule. I would put the key in an oven at about 50C and leave it for a number of hours.

Based on what I hear and see, number one check is battery voltage - what is your car's battery showing (have you a multimeter?)
Number 2 - the key module housing is glass, that sounds like it's broken. Have you any mobile locksmiths, specializing in cars locally? A forum member recently posted a brilliant service that pulled the chip's code and cloned it onto a blank then cut the blank, I'll see if I can find it as it may be of help.

Personally I think the key's module is trashed for starting the car, it's shouldn't ring like in your video. It can still be used for trunk, glovebox and drivers door though.
The dealer should be able to pull the key code and supply a new key but you'll need to be sat down when they hand you the invoice.
