Default injector Removal on X308 XJR

Hello Community,

I need to remove all 8 injectors on my 2001 XJR (x308).

Been looking around and only found this thread : https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...removal-78486/

Is this the only way to do the job ???

Do I really need to remove the top of the engine ? No other solution ?

Many thanxs for your help

I don't see any way to do it with the supercharger and intercooler manifolds on the car. So yes, you gotta tear off a lot!

If you don't want to remove the top end, then drop the bottom end... Sorry, couldn't resist!

Back to topic... I guess it shouldn't take any more than 3h to take the top end apart... But that would be the basics...

Maybe you can help. Cut a long story short, I had to change my engine. Got a second hand one with low mileage on it. Did all the work.

When the car is "cold" it runs perfectly and as soon as it warms up, the car starts to "cough" at low rpms' and the engine warning light comes on with a restricted power warning. After reading the codes, they read problems with the pistons all on the left bank (piston 5, 6, 7 & 8).

My mechanic thinks it could be the fact that the injectors are dirty, clogged up or simply dead (because the purchased engine had been on stand still for a bit).

Any extra ideas ?

Try the following: have the engine running. Pull off the injector plugs on the B bank (5th to 8th cylinder aka drivers side on LHD) one after each other. If there is no change, the injector isn't working. If there is a change, the injector ks working.

Then check the coils... Remove the cover and unplug a coil at a time. If the engine runs worse, they work. If it doesn't change they don't work.

You'll like that find out at least if fuel and sparks are there.

I find it weird that one bank switches off after warming up...

Just to be clear, what do you mean by :"If there is a change, the injector ks working." ?what does Ks stand for ?

Cheers
