I've given up on taking my car racing

Why risk a perfectly good roadcar on the track, when formula ford exist. I was wondering if anyone has used the aj-v8 in any stressed engine applications . I'm strongly considering formula ford for trackdays only (maybe possible with a porsche transand a lot of custom fabrication). The price of a used in good condition xjr is about even with a decent Formula car, and realistically you can't come anywhere close to the limited 155mph rating without going to jail. So why not just buy a true racecar and save the cruiser for crusing? It would be boring to keep the kent engine, easier sure but who doesn't want to throw the formula series rulebook out the door and make something unique. So I was thinking the ajv8 with some adapter plate and a porsche trans would make a cool muscular sounding track weapon. Of course to handle the power the cars body would have to be modded for downforce and reinforced/elongated. Pros being that the standard AJV8 outputs 290whp and 290wtq ,which should be good for about 170-200mph in a 1000ilb car with sixties ish formula one aero. What do you guys think of this outlandish idea, besides the fact it would require fire suppression and a parachute?

I don't recall if I gave you this thread before, but from what you write, it may be right up your alley. There is a lot of knowledge to be absorbed in it.
