Welcome to the forum Redmazda,

I've deleted your duplicate of this question from General Tech Help and moved the other to X308 forum. This is the place to post technical questions about your model.

In the absence of any help or suggestions from other members, I'll get this thread started.

The dipped beam headlamps are separately fused. Unlikely, although not impossible that these have both blown:

The main and dipped beams have separate relays. These are located in the engine compartment fuse box. A dipped beam relay fault is more likely:

It's some years since I had an X308 and I cannot remember if main and dip beam relays are identical. If they are then a simple substitution is an easy way to check for a faulty relay.

If the fuses and relays prove to be OK then it is on to more complex possibilities such as the dip switch or BPM (Body Processor Module).

That's the way I read it too. It was certainly some genius that drew those diagrams for the Vehicle Care Handbook.

OK, I'm no expert but have you checked the relay for the foglights? It should be the one at the bottom center of the diagram (labeled R1, of course!) Swap in a known good relay there if you don't have any spares, and see what happens. Also, the rear fogs do not turn on unless the fronts are on, and neither will work unless the parking or dipped headlights are on. At least that's how my 2000 Sovereign works...

Does the fog light push button switch on the dash illuminate with the dipped beams on? If not then the relay and/or fuse has no power to it. Test the fuse again and verify with a test light that both fuse contacts on the top of the fuse illuminate the test light with key on and dipped beams on.

What are dipped headlights? Is it the same thing as daytime running lights? Sorry for the stupid question but I’ve never heard of them before.

Dipped headlights (low beams) boot (trunk) bonnet (hood) rubbers (rubber shoes worn in the rain) **** (cigarettes). You now have your British slang terms.

Have you checked the switch is plugged in behind the dash? You never know, it may even be the switch itself.
