I have a 1997/1998 Jaguar 3.2L AJ-V8 engine which I am intending to use in my jet boat.
I have done some research and I found that the common consensus is that the standard Jaguar ECU is pretty much unusable for running the engine effectively stand-alone from the car (e.g. without the wheel speed inputs, and so on).
I am wondering whether somewhere in this userbase's vast knowledge might lie the answer to getting this engine running either via an aftermarket ECU and attached loom, piggyback ECU, or somehow preprogramming the stock ECU.
You've chosen a heck of a project.... try posting this in the General Tech Help forum also? Perhaps in the Non Jaguar forum also...the more sources, the better. Go to the top task bar, left side and the drop down will get you to all the site forums.
Thanks for the replies! I'll definitely pop a post onto some more forums to expand the net.
I am currently talking to Emerald about their ECUs however they've never done a jet boat and so it's looking to be a learning experience for all! If Emerald and other ECUs alike e.g. Megasquirt, etc are the way forward for this engine I look forward to seeing if it is possible!
