Default Jaguar specialits in Scotland

Hi there, just new to the forum so HI to everybody!
Recently got a 2000 xjr...about 10 days ago....from down in Manchester. When I got the car the dealer informed me that it needed a new security and locking module and he would post me one up if I was willing to fit it myself. Well to cut a long story short he did and I did. After fitting it I reset the keys as per instructions and everything worked great or so i thought until I tried to start the car,the engine starts and then just dies.
I have tried everything I can possibly think of to cure the problem but to no avail. The dealer has told me to put it in to a jaguar specialist up here to find the problem and he will pay for it as its under warranty. The question is where can I find a good specialist around my area..East Central Scotland. I have only found one down in Motherwell but was just wondering if anybody new one closer to hand. Thanks in advance.

I can tell you who NOT to use, JAGSU, or, Jaguar/Subaru centre, the proprietor is how shall I say, a ripoff artist. I'd find a local main agent, it sounds like the module needs programming to the car, does it say programmable part on it?

You could try Jamie Mcgibbon at Gobbon & Wilson, they are based in Bearsden North of Glasgow. Jamie has been servicing and repairing my Jags for over 20 years. Contact number is (UK) 01419431333

Hey sparky, if its under warranty and the Jag dealer says they wil pay for it.....get yourself into your local Jag dealer quick smart and get it fixed.
It could be your opportunity to check out the local dealer as well.....They're not ALL as bad as they're painted and you may have a good one?
Anyway, other than that advice I can help no further, but wish you well my friend

Hi Sparky,

It looks like Stratstones either in Edinburgh or Perth are going to be your closest, i agree with Jim get it in quick before the guy you bought it from starts to back off.
Where in Fife are you? Is the den for Cardenden?
