Jaguar XJ8L and Vanden Plas Side Skirt Quest
Still searching for side skirts for the 99VDP and keep hitting dead ends. Has anyone modified these or can suggest another generic or ???? that will work.

Thanks for the reply but they are not to be found. I have even searched Japan for a kit, Glänz is one but truely nothing. I have come across rarely a SWB set but never a X308 LWB. Bought new rubber for the jack points but still looks off. Looking to cover the rockers, I think it should have come from the factory with skirts. So short of making my own I would like to find a set that I can modify, even from another car or generic.

The Glanz one, as all other aftermarket side skirts, goes over your present steel skirts, they are not a replacement.
I use them, the jacking points one of the reasons to justify them to my wife .
They are still advertised:

There is also a cheap set available in Japan, a copy of Arden.
I personally don't like the shape of their side skirts though.

I sort of agree about the jacking points, they do literally let the side down a bit. However if you look at a photo of the old XJ production line, you can see the cars were carried along the production line by those jacking points.
It’s a shame no one ever devised a skirt or sill finisher with prongs that simply slide into the jacking points and lock in place with a simple clip or pin. That way the skirts could easily be removed for jacking, cleaning or maintenance.
