Just a simple question!
Hello everyone! Just a simple question; I recently heard that the transmissions in Jags start to go bad after 100k miles. Is this true? Mine has 112,400 miles and still runs fantastic! Or is it just depending on how well or not so well the Jags are taken care of? Thanks!

Pressure valve
My 2001 XJ8 currently has just over 98,000 miles and I am planning to drop the transmission pan, change the filter and refill what comes out with new Lifeguard 5 fluid. I did this same service to my wife's 2004 XJ8 (x350) about a month ago and her car shifts noticeably smoother.
The previous owner of the 2001 was elderly and had all servicing done at a Jaguar dealer, supposedly. The car drives very smoothy and I could not ask for better shifts. It does not seem to "kick down" when I accelerate at highway speeds but other than that I have no complaints about the drive quality. The fluid/filter change is for my peace of mind.
The Question: Should I go ahead and replace the main pressure valve with part number 1058 327 030 01 while I am changing the filter/fluid? I already put it in my cart at the California Transmission Supply Company, only $25!
If the answer is yes, this is a good preventative maintenance idea, how difficult is the installation and is there a link to a good DIY for this job.
Thanks
