Default Kiwi 3 OBD-Bluetooth Adapter

I've just ordered one of these.

I decided that since the car was bankrupting me anyway I might as well go down in style and upgrade from my VGate scanner to a software-based system (OBD Auto Doctor).

If anyone out there is using the Kiwi 3 adapter, I'd be interested to hear your experience - particularly how your X308 'feels' about having the adapter plugged in. I'm wondering if I could safely leave the adapter plugged in semi-permanently while I'm chasing a fault with the car.

Using my VGate, I find that frequent use is tending to set off the ASC/Traction Control warning and produce spurious P1797 codes.

Justin

I don't use that particular one, I have a cheap bluetooth adapter that I got to pair with the Torque Pro app. It stays plugged in almost entirely. The only time I remove it from the ports are when I need to check codes or performance on another car, or when I go to get the annual inspection and they need to plug their computer in. Car doesn't seem to mind it at all, and it gives me the ability to monitor via the app whenever I wish.

Exact same here, cheap Chinese one, and semi-permanent without problems.

despite being ridiculously expensive, I'm very pleased with the Kiwi adapter. As far as I can see it's transparent - the car doesn't care if it's attached - which is a lot more than I could say for my old VGate device. Data updates to the software are wickedly fast and, since my problems are now resolved, the cost has been worth it to me.
