Still waiting to swap places at the shop but the pulley was supposed to arrive last week so hopefully this week…
In the meantime, at our favourite parking lot (the one with the book store), while waiting for SWMBO to pick up an order this little Volkswagen pulls gingerly into the stall in front of the XJR.

The pulley for the Series 3 V12 finally arrived and it turned out to be for the later 6.0 litre engine and not the 5.3 litre so my mechanic has sourced another but we’re back in the wait for delivery mode.
This of course means the XJR is still waiting for her turn for some shop time before the weather turns. It’s actually been so nice that no one wants to talk about it for fear of jinxing it. To compensate, I thought I would try my hand at tidying up the driver’s seat bolsters where the leather cleaner and conditioner was no longer able to keep on top of things.
This is a before and after three very light coats of Seat Doctors Almond Leather and Vinyl Dye dabbed on with a micro fibre cloth and lightly buffed when dry.
As a bonus, I took this photo on the way home this afternoon (while stopped) for all those raised on digital clicks who don’t know what “TIMEX Time” is.
The Bosch conventional wiper blade was finally getting a bit streaky. I’m not sure how old it is but it was on the XJR when we picked her up almost 19 months ago so no complaints about longevity. I have always been a fan of Bosch blades so stayed with the brand but replaced it with one of their Icon “beam” blades given what our winters can inflict on blades
While perhaps not as “elegant” as a conventional blade, that’s because they don’t sit as “tall” without the conventional blade’s lattice spring work and look a bit clunky as a result even though they’re smaller. They went on quickly and easily, run quietly and the sweep appears almost perfect to just under the top trim. Although they don’t quite sit flat at the very tip when parked, neither did the conventional blade.
As you can’t have a new blade on a dusty car, the next step was of course a quick wash and a fresh coat of wax.
I use Bosch Icons on all my vehicles. I really like them because they don’t streak and they don’t deform from sitting against the glass. Good choice.
Only place I don't use Bosch Icons is on the rear of my Prius, only because I could not find one to fit when I was on my wiper-replacing binge the other day. I switched over 2-3 years ago and love them.
Where are you guys finding Icons for sale these days? I used to use them exclusively on all my vehicles but I can't find them locally anymore and honestly no other beam wiper does half as good a job. Does the icon cover the outer edges of the X308 windshield well though? It has a really sharp curve and oddly enough so far only the $9 trico basic wipers have worked edge to edge for me.
Not sure if they ship outside of Canada or not but you could explore the shipping option on their site to see. Their pricing is, of course, in Canadian dollars.
I get them from Amazon or O’Reilly’s. No they don’t hug the lower corner of the glass when parked, but it doesn’t bother me. It doesn’t vibrate against the glass from wind so you don’t notice that it’s away from the glass in the corner.
Advance Auto or Car Quest (owned by Advance) routinely carries Bosch Icons, and you can get them with a variety of discounts and free shipping sometimes if there's not a store near you. My recollection is they were about $30 each, but they have a discount of something like $8 off for two, plus a discount of 15 percent on the first purchase if you create an account and. I ended up spending about $60 in total.
I did find, after ripping off the poor-performing 16" Trico on the back of the Prius that Bosch's 16" wiper attachment mechanism is not a fit, so I sheepishly had to ask the clerk to give me another Trico. He took pity on the old guy (74 and white haired) and went out in the rain to replace it for me! He said his experience on the Prius was that it was either Trico or the dealer.
The XJR was swapped for the Series 3 VDP last week and picked up this afternoon. The cost for the XJR was surprisingly inexpensive but for the Series 3 VDP not (to be documented elsewhere).

Good catch... I have edited the photos in my post (not that my address is actually that hard to find if anyone wants it) but they don't change the ones quoted in your post...
