Default Knock sensor high input = problem before sensor, right?

I measured resistance of both knock sensors and found both to be a perfect 200k ohms, as designed.

Code PO328 knock sensor high input must mean the knock sensor output is directly affected by input, to operate properlly. Therefore replacing the sensor will not solve the problem.

Great news, except that I’d rather just buy the part, and spend 15 minutes or so swapping, and be done with the mystery/headache.

That said, any ideas of how to solve high input?

Car starts and runs only if I pedal it, and keep it over about 800rpm.

Also coded 300 random misfire, and 301, 302, 304, and 305 for specific cylinder misfire, as well as 102 MAF low input, 112 IAT low input.

Before borrowing the scanner, I replaced the fuel pump and filter, drained and replaced gas, rail and injectors all cleaned and individually tested, reassembled and started with pressure appearing to be correct, (measured with vacuum plugged, 37 running and briefly increases to about 40 immediately after it’s turned off) but still runs bad.

Hard to believe that wasn’t the reason it wouldn’t run, cause the whole fuel delivery system components each had problems that seemed to be enough by themselves to cause the poor running condition.

Glad I did it anyway, but I can’t enjoy that until the car actually runs......

Any “input” that’ll get me closer to the end of the headache, would be greatly appreciated.....

I'm unconvinced you're right about the knock sensor(s) but in any case I'd start with the other codes.

BTW it's better to use the full code as otherwise Search will not find it / many members will be puzzled / etc.

get new knock sensor. for the misfiring get new spark plug set if your plugs are old and see if it will solve the misfiring problem also change the fuel filter if it's old . hopefully it's not the ignition coils because the original denso is not cheap
youcan get good quality ignition coils from eBay.

I had misfiring I changed 4 spark plugs and 2 ignition coils . I'm running 6 original denso coil and 1 NGK coil and 1 eBay coil. the eBay coil looks fine and work fine . btw stick with NGK plugs it's the best for this car

You need to first take care the MAF and IAT codes. The clear cldes and read new codes as they appear. The MAF sensor when replaced will clear clear the IAT as it is a part of the MAF. Once that MAF is changed then you can re-scan after running and check for the misfires. The correct them. You have failure of at least 3 cylinders on one bank and that is going to drive the knock sensor crazy. You may find with a new MAF the ECM is getting correct readings and the misfires may or may not correct. As of now the knock sensor is reporting what it is sensing.

I am have the same problem. I have done all the above things and I still am getting 4.8 volts on one sensor and 2.5 on the other. These voltage are taken with just the key turn to the on position. Car not running. Any help would be appreciated.

What codes? Also, better if you posted in the X350 forum, this forum is for X308 98 - 2003 XJ8s, not the later 2004 (US and Canada markets).

High voltage code means that the signal voltage does not go down ever(or in certain time). or in this case knock sensor is way too sensitive and keeps the voltage up from the smallest of the engine sound. Then there is very small test current that is fed to the sensor wire to determine that the sensor is in fact connected and wire is not broken. If wire is broken, voltage stays high -> voltage high / no sensor connected -code.
