Hello Everyone, This is my first time here and I’m hoping to get some help on my issue before I go to the mechanic.
I drive a 2001 Jaguar XJR X308 that I’ve had for 5 years now. I was cleaning my engine bay with water ( making sure I don’t hose directly into connecters). I removed my air filter and intake ( I made sure to cover the throttle body).
Once I was finished and put the car back together, I started the car and got Restricted performance and knock sensor code P0332 and P0327. I thought it was a fluke given I never had that issue before. I decided to clear the code and disconnect the battery and connect it again hoping it would go away…Not only did the codes come back but now I have a “Battery not charging” light on the dash as-well. I left the negative cable unplugged for the night and now this morning I tried and all the lights are still there. I started to think maybe when I was cleaning, the water went somewhere it shouldn’t be. Not sure what to do now unfortunately… I’ll take any help I can get. Thanks!

Unplug both knock sensors, spray WD40 (Water Displacer) inside connectors and let it air out a few minutes before plugging back in. The alternator might be a different story but, focus on one thing at a time. Hook battery back up and clear the codes prior to starting. See if at least the knock sensor codes went away before proceeding.
