Oh, I guess the 350s didn't have leapers?

Most British market XJs, At least XJ40s, X300s, X308s and X350s, didn't have leapers as standard. This was mainly a North American thing. Every XJ I've seen Clarkson review from the early 90's to 2005 didn't have a leaper but they did have the sweet blacked out window trim on the XJR.

In the UK "leapers" were made illegal, as they were thought to injure anyone that was hit and thrown onto the bonnet. Some cars made "break off" bonnet mascots (Mercedes Benz) or retracting ones (Rolls & Bentley).
