Default Leak passenger foot well,

Small amount of water streamed on the floor from under the glove box area. Then an hour later I got a check engine light & pulled a 0456 code that indicated the EVAP system has a small leak ?!

Is this related to my passenger side puddle ?!

Edit :

Cleaned fuel filler neck & cap lip & cleared codes, I'll see if it resurfaces. Just curious as to where that water came from in the front passenger foot well ?! I had the AC running rather hard as well.

When my windshield cowl drain got plugged up, the water overflowed into the climate control air intake, into the pass side blower, and was slowly leaking onto the floor from there. Probably not your cause but one thing worth checking.

If the AC was running hard and it leaked out a bunch of water, the AC condenser drain could be clogged... When your AC is running you should get a small puddle of water draining out under the car, should be pretty noticeable when you first start the car and run the ac a few minutes.

You know ?! When I washed my car I did notice some gurgling sounds from the cowl region that I hadn't heard before. This also happened after a car wash, anyone have a diagram of the cowl drain system.

Default Wiper Drain

Hi K.C.
Here's a diagram of the wiper motor and housing, the non return valve is underneath the housing.

No. Description
1 + Windscreen wiper motor
2 + Nut
3 + Screw/washer
4 + Non return valve
5 + Link lead

The non return valve is just a rubber flap and relies on the weight of the water to open.Mine was stuck in the closed position and there was also debris in the housing.
Hope that helps K.C.
Good luck.
Andy

There is also the centre drain, the wiper/cowl removed and a thin flexible tool to prod any debris blocking it. It exits right above the bellhousing behind the throttle body via a rubber tube.
The Aircon has 2 drains from the matrix on either side of the trans tunnel, doubtful they're the leak, more likely the wiper box or centre drain.

I didn't have time or patience to remove the wiper arm etc. But I removed the passenger side cowl screws & pried it up enough to spray the slots with a can of compressed air. It's supposed to rain heartily Saturday, so we shall see if it did the trick.

For an easy test, you can take a garden hose and pour it into the wiper cowl. With the hood open, you can watch where the water drains from - it should all drain quickly from the very bottom of the wiper motor housing, if it's draining from further up then that valve is probably clogged.

There's also two overfill tubes at the edges underneath the cowl, those being clogged can also cause issues if overfill in the wiper cowl really is the issue.

I poured a pitcher of hot water there & it did drain @ the motor base, so let's hope all's well !
