Default Leather seats for X308

Does anyone know the best place to get a leather seat cover replacement for a 1998 XJ8L? I believe the color name is "cashmere" (creamy beige). Everything else in the car is in great shape, just the left front seat is shot. Checking here for ideas before I go to a local shop and spend a pile of money. The wife will be eternally grateful for any and all ideas!

I recently contacted WUT & got the following info.

https://www.facebook.com/worlduph/

A basic kit (2 bottom covers and 2 backrest covers) is $1,895 in Jaguar leather. All we need is the 3-letter TRIM code that can be found in a white label found on your driver side's door. We will also need the skirt size (see pic below).

The one CK posted is the one I ordered a set for my front seats from....hey, the price was right. I took them to my upholsterer, he said the stitching was nice and looked good, the only thing he saw that got his attention was the grain was larger than the OEM. He said that they probably got a good deal on the leather since the grain was so large and passed the savings onto the customers. My upholsterer said he couldn't touch that for less than $800, but he does some quality stuff, he has a contract with a Porsche dealer and he's always slammed.
Be sure to get the leather swatch sample from them because the colors he had on site didn't match the swatch board and those were the correct colors....It took him about 3 weeks to make and mail them.

Thanks for replying! I’ll look into this possibly. The right seat is great, only the left is bad. Perhaps they will do one seat only.

Or, if you can find a good seat used - any colour - dye it to match. $100

I did this years ago to my S1 XJ using Leatherique dye.

Just make sure the seat movement operation works on the used seat.

Gopod luck

Thanks Rob,
I thought about that solution as well. The issue is finding one that old in decent condition. Unless it was taken from the car and stored it probably won't be in great shape. Cars in our Texas salvage yards burn up quickly after a few hot summers! Thanks for replying.

Thinking out of the box. Your worn LHD US driver's seat is an unworn RHD UK passenger seat. UK specialist Jaguar breaker's or ebay.uk could be a source. International shipping on a seat cover wouldn't be excessive.

Graham,
Actually it's "thinking out of the seat". What a great idea!. I'll check both those possibilities. Thanks for your idea!

To Dalegphilips1
I am after a driver's seat (RHD) as the rivets that hold the backrest to the bottom frame (rales) are broken you can with 1 hand pull the top of the seat back and forth
but dam near impossible to find an XJ8 X300 1998 seat here in OZ its got to be recovered in same cashmier 5 flutes

May be worth checking out the UK Ebay website. A specialist breaker in Southern England sell the leather seat covers for around £50 each - they have a number of colours. The Ebay reference number is as follows:
362581572680.Good luck. Regards Keith Quirk (UK)

I have used GAHH in the past. The quality is very good. They are expensive but you get what you pay for. John is an awesome person and has been servicing the classic car industry for years. Mine is a Rouched Vanden Plas seat and I did look towards England to find a good used seat. The rouched part is difficult to find. GAHH is based in California

I used GAHH a year ago. I was pleased with the quality and the price was about $800 something. Just did the driver side front seat and the differences are not that glaring compared to other seats that were lightly used. Vast improvement from original driver seat even one that had reasonably good care.
