Default LED Upgrades

Some quick, silly questions. If I change the front and rear side markers, will it cause any fast flashing? I put LED license plate bulbs a few weeks ago. Don't remember if they are canbus. I would assume they are.

Would switching all interior bulbs cause any problems?

You would lose the beautiful warm blue/green color of the original interior backlighting?

Switching the marker LED's will cause hyperflash if they don't have load resistors.

There was a thread recently on interior LED swap that covered some of the process and parts needed, etc.

I'm only doing map/readers & doors to keep the green/blue motif. I'm currently doing my interior. You're going to need resistors on the rear courtesy lights as well or you get the "ghosting" effect.

There's several LED threads I've recently bumped one for great info.

I also noticed that ghosting happen when I tried LED's in the two center bulbs in the roof console (the two that light up when doors open). The map lights didn't seem to need them. Those are definitely worth doing, helps to see much more at night.

Thanks guys. Don't plan on changing the instrument cluster or radio lighting. Everything else, yes. Will read the links now.

Front/rear sidemarkers will not cause hyperflashing (although I didn't like the look of the superbright LEDs in those and went back to normal incandescent). Front/rear turn signals will cause hyperflashing, but only inside the car (turn signal indicators in the gauge cluster). The actual outside turn signals will still flash at normal speed.

Excellent info, thanks. Will be buying some soon. I have used LED's from theretrofitsource.com on my 93 Vette with good results. In fact, the DRL left side went bad yesterday. Time to buy those as well in LED.

For the interior I highly recommend getting the "error free"(w/ built in resistor) LEDs to avoid having to solder tiny resistors onto miniscule bubs lol. I just went through this ordeal, no fun.

I'm getting some odd effects on my front overhead console. All the incandescent bulbs worked fine, when I switch to the LEDs all work except one on the end. I rotate a known good bulb to the slot, still nothing. Any clue as to why all are working but this one holder/receptacle ?!
