I like Bentleys, but not two door, and anyway, your XJ VDP has much classier lines!
.
Thanks Carnival Kid, and I totally agree. What I don't like about the newer Bentleys is how rounded and bloated they look. You can see how much fatter it is than the X308 despite being only a coupe. I like the lower and straighter lines of the 90s Continental R and Turbo R a lot more.
How many inches is your car lowered? Does it affect the drivability of the car, as in do you always have to worry about pot holes and inclines?
It runs on the XJR (Rest Of World) height, so nothing dramatic there.
However, I run F245/45R18, R275/40R18 Toyo's, and they fill the wheel wells just a bit better than the 255 on a standard XJR, already giving a lowered look.
The Glanz body kit + the rubber feelers do the rest.
I got about 3" ground clearance at the front.
Yes, need to be a bit careful, and there are places I can not go, but in general it is OK.
The biggest problem (but that is even a problem for a standard XJ) are the long overhangs, that multiplies the clearance issues a bit more.
Hey Eric, are those LED's in the base of the spoiler? I hadn't noticed them before.
I thought those feelers came with the Glanz....did you modify them yourself?
Yeah, fitted in the lower lip, hard to see indeed, unless you kowtow to the car ...
And those feelers: I had a full length universal piece under the bumper before the Glanz kit, but which was too short to fit the Glanz spoiler lip.
So I got the brilliant idea ( ) to cut it in two, shorten it, and make them the 'feelers'.
They actually work, and indicate imminent damage before it happens, they saved me a couple of times.
Weather was a bit poor over the weekend, which gave me the perfect excuse to get out of gardening and go for a trip with one of the local Jaguar clubs.
All in there were about 20 cars, and a stray Ferrari 488. There were only two XJ's, myself and a Series I XJ6. I counted 10 XK's, a few S-Types (old and new), an F-Type, and an E-Type
Excellent PatioBoater.................sharp car, very attractive, executive looking!

I really like them.
Thanks for the kind words, guys.
Even now after owning it for more than four years when I look at a good picture of that car I think, "Man, one day I'd like to own a truly awesome car like that." And then I think, "Oh my gosh, I do!"
Says the person with Torq Thrusts on theirs? For some, the white-walls represent a classic, vintage look which the rest of the car certainly does lend itself well to. To each their own, as should be obvious in your own tastes vs others. Not being a fan of the look is one thing. Ridiculing the decision is another.
Thank you for "defending" me on this. I have had a coupe of people vehemently attack my decision to put white walls on my 1999 XJ-8. I thought about it quite a while and I have visions of how many classic Jaguars I had seen with white walls that looked great. I feel the X308 is the last classic appearing, low slung Jaguar saloon and thought whitewalls would enhance the classic look. As a rule, I don't like to jazz things up. I have done everything else to keep the car classic looking including resisting putting a new head unit to replace the original radio or even changing wheels. I will post some older Jags with white walls.

By the way, these Vogue tires run great and have lasted quite a while. They handle very well and give a nice smooth ride. May not replace them for the only reason is that they are difficult to clean and keep clean.
