That is a nice B&W shot, definitely different and IMHO...ads a sexiness to it, ...but what's with the blurred areas?

As it is 100+ degrees every day right now here in Northern California I figured it would be a good idea to spend 4 hours washing and waxing the Jag.

It is cleaner than the day it left Brown's Lane in Coventry all those years ago!

Non-glamour shots taken on the fly but she's back clean after 2 weeks of torrential rain & salt/beach climate. Getting the engine bay this weekend.

Looking good KC, and I think this is the first time I have seen the chrome grill bar on your car. I agree with your much earlier statement that it compliments your car, especially with no license plate.

Yeah I had it put on, when it was in paint, I like it a lot. Really thinking of going w/ all new headlights just for a cohesive gleam lol.

You've got me thinking there, how about just having the metal headlight surrounds chrome plated, there's only about 10% of them that shows with the hood closed, but it would add an extra gleam, the originals are plated, (or are they polished stainless?), but not bright chrome. They come off easily enough, just a single spring clip on the top of each one.

I may have to add that to my 2019 To-Do list!

So I investigated further, and 1) I was surprised how easily the headlight rims come off, and 2) how dirty they were!

All it takes is to press the headlight rim back slightly, then insert a small screwdriver under the top tang and leverage it up until it clears the clip and the rim basically pops out. To refit simply press into place until the tang drops into its slot.

I removed the rims and gave them a cleaning and polish with Solvol Autosol, my favorite metal/chrome cleaner.

Quite a dramatic improvement! No need for any re-chroming, just needed a good clean!

Looks good, may follow your lead when I'm doing the engine/bay.
