Lincoln LS 3.9 and Jag XJ8 4.0: Same Valve Cover Gasket?

Anyone happen to know if these engines would share the same valve cover gaskets? Just spoke with a tech at a gasket mfgr and one of their products is not spec'd for a 2001 VDP, but for a Lincoln LS with a 3.9 DOHC engine, but one Ebay seller says it fits the VDP.
Anyone have any experience with this?
Thanks,
SirJag

Seems you need to assemble the bolt seals outer with the cover seal to hold it all together.

Check out Christopher's Foreign Auto Parts online. Best price by far I could find for a full timing chain kit for an '01 XJ8 - I got everything chains, tensioners, new bolts, valve, plug, and timing cover gaskets - valve cover bolt seals, and both styles of VVT seals in one kit, he even threw in a crank shaft pulley bolt, and I picked up the upgrade waterpump and thermostat all shipped together. He's got a variety of kits put together as well as individual components. Based on the cost I imagine there are a few of the cross referenced Lincoln parts in his kit ( I did get a bunch of stuff with Jag labels on the bags though), but everything I got fit perfectly and each part was clearly labeled. I'm getting ready to see if he's got parts to do the timing on my MX5.

The Ford/Lincoln version is completely different and would not fit the teeth on the VVT or any of the JAG's gears. I think It had something to do with early Ford/Lincolns not having VVT's. I did not bother digging and reused my existing chains.
I did however use the Ford/Lincoln Primary & Secondary Tensioners, Guides, Front Cover Gasket, Crank Seal, Oil Pan Gasket, and Valve Cover Gaskets.

Hey, bringing up an old thread, but would this valve cover gasket also work on a 1998 Jaguar XJR? It's a 4.0 as well but everything I'm reading says 2000-2003. Here's what i'm looking at Valve Cover Gasket Vs50397 - Victor Reinz (VS50397)

If your engine is original, that's the wrong gasket. The 1998 gasket is thicker, and the spark plug well gaskets are connected, not separate (http://www.ebay.com/itm/371240133843?rmvSB=true). If you have a later replacement engine (like in my vehicle), then that gasket will work. Only way to know for sure is to take off a valve cover and have a look.
