Default Looking for an armrest center

My leather is cracked on my middle console and I'm going to start restoring the car bit by bit.

Does anyone know of a 3rd party that makes replacement ones(with better cupholders) or someone selling one? Its black interior.

I just wish mine was made of wood with decent cup holders

If you want to repair / refurbish your existing armrest, this video by member Reverend Sam is an excellent HOW TO:

It's posted in the XK8/XKR section and shows the work being done on an XKR but the X308 armrest is the same.

I found one on Ebay few weeks ago. Came from England, and it doesn't have a cup holder (which I prefer). Also came with the compartment below, that is deeper than my VDP original. My car had a phone in there (which I took out), and under the compartment, there was a phone control box. So now I have deeper glovebox, plus the armrest without the cupholder.

There is a guy on Ebay (look at completed auctions) who has a whole bunch of new armrests with cupholder for $175 I think they are all in AGD code, but they can be easily dyed by any upholstery shop. When I was looking for mine, he also had a black one. There is also Craigslist. There are several Jags parted out in CA, and some have black interior. Couple black interior parts cars on Ebay too.

Another way to do it, is to take the lid off, and take it to the auto upholstery shop. They told me they can recover it in any leather one might want, and any color. I am about to give them my driver's seat to recover.

I have a low mile black XJR leather set, but no centre arm rest or I'd ship it out to you...I like the idea of wood, the only thing is a perfect match to the rest of the car's trim, tricky.

Have you got any local auto trimmers? it's a $50 to re-skin in genuine leather instead of the Ambla Jaguar used on these items.

Finding 100 lids breaks my heart, this can only mean they're parted out....you can always dye the stitching with a black fabric pen....5 minute job

I have one that has some stitching on it that says A M with some design. The cupholders work fine, but they dont always stay snapped shut. $120 shipped. Check out the link in my signature. I think theres a pic of it in the first post.

A US specs 2003 XJR or XJ8 do not have a leather console/armrest but rather a vinyl/ambla one.
Only VDP and SC/VDP have leather

I think that i stil have mine ( 01 XJR) from when i got all the interior vinyl trim replaced ( at jaguar cost no less ) by Autolux leather

Ha! Cup holder is broken plus wouldn't stay shut so I super glued it.

I brought the arm rest to a local autosunroof/interior restoration shop in Northern NJ. He did a great job for $50. I bought a cupholder refurbished on eBay for less than $30

Much cheaper than a new set

Good luck

I was getting a bit annoyed with my cup holder in my 1999 VDP center console, periodically flipping open. My leather was in good condition, so I bought NEW lid off E-Bay although the wrong color, and changed my existing leather covers over, and ended up with a great solution for $175. Money well spent to me. If requiring one for a Black interior,a leather dye would be an ideal solution, not too many shades of BLACK. LOL
