Starting a tensioner replacement job shortly for my '99 XJR.
Before I check the commercial tool providers, I thought I'd just ping the forum to see if anybody who has recently done this job has a leftover set of timing tools that they would lend or rent or sell.
I need the following:
303-530 camshaft setting tool,
303-531 crankshaft setting tool, and
303-532 timing chain tensioning tool.
Thanks,

Should you wish for me to lend you the tools, you will be responsible for all insurance/shipping costs and agree that you are using them at your own risk having the mechanical expertise to use them and return them undamaged.

Go to your local Ford or Lincoln dealer with a couple dozen donuts in hand at around 9:00 AM and ask to see the service manager. The donuts are the key!
Make it clear that you know they don't usually loan out special tools but you are willing to leave a copy of your driver license, a credit card deposit and your firstborn as collateral for the use of the Timing Chain tools needed for a Lincoln LS or Thunderbird. FWIW, I remember the tools are part of a kit that is also used on one of the Explorer engine options.
It worked for me...
It helps if you are a past customer (Service, Parts, or vehicle purchase) because your name and address will be in their computer system. Or if you know anyone that works at the dealership use that too. In my case the father of a girl I dated in High School worked at the dealership. Even though he didn't like me, it gave me a little credibility by dropping his name.
Good luck,
Ken Wolkens
