Memory Seat Positions Will Not Work

I own a 1998 XJR with 97k miles and have just started messing around with the memory settings for my seats. The steering wheel and mirrors will adjust to the memory settings when I press the buttons/key fab but the the seat itself will not return to the desired position. I did a little searching about the problem but did not find too much information other than there is a black box underneath the seats that may have a broken lead/resistor that I can solder to try and fix the problem. If any of you have had similar problems your input would be very appreciated!

I uploaded hundreds of TSB in the large file area.
You need to find 501-35 and 501-51 for diagnosis and repair.
I would suggest replacing ALL the position potentiometers if you do any at all.
It is easier to do them all at once if you disassemble the seat.
When the cars got old enough to be out of factory warranty, customers rarely spent the money to repair the memory function.
The sensors were about $300 EACH and there are 5.
Add labor to that and you can see why people just manually adjust seats.

A new update to this old problem. None of the memory seat positions will move anything, not the steering wheel, mirrors or the seat. I noticed that if I put my finger in the middle of the memory seat position button area (for lack of better terms) it is extremely hot, like will burn my finger if I leave it there. Will be investigating this problem when I get some free time.
