Default Merry X-mas!

Merry X-mas everyone.

I just received my X-mas present:
After working on my X308 now for 3 weeks (changing timing chains, ATF, Gaskets under air-intake. oil and coolant and putting it back all together), it immediately started (well, after the expected very small delay, as there was no more petrol in the fuel rail). It ran alright for the very short moment I could have it running, until the ATF came out by the tube into the bucket as planned. Filled up the ATF and test-drive (without bonnet (hood). All good. It's unfamiliar, though, driving a Jag without jumping leaper (due to no bonnet)...

I will write reports with pictures.

Merry Christmas mate. It's great to see people have success while working on these cars.

Thanks, asdf. It's now 4:0 for me...
The 4 against which I won are: Ford Fairlane NL '97, X-Type FWD '06, S-Type '04 3L, X308 V8 3.2L (plus, my van, if that counts).
I am actually polishing pretty much every part and every bolt, which I remove from the cars anyway before putting them back on... - and that takes a while.
Plus, I do a bit of spray-painting, where required.

General advise: There seems to be that many plastic parts (clips, hose connectors, etc.) in/on those Jags, which are obviously very brittle at low temperature, that it is currently probably a bad idea to work on them in the US,.. Even in the warm climate here I frequently use my heat gun first to warm up plastic clips before I touch them (as they are brittle due to their age...).

The heat gun trick is a good idea, wish I'd thought of that.

Yes, I came up with that heat gun trick on my own. It is especially helpful with those X-mas trees. ...here we are again: Christmas time!
Seriously, I worked in the Automotive Industry and those parts are called X-mas trees, as they look like one...

That little white "clip" on the wiring loom is just one example of a X-mas tree. I heated it up a bit to get it out, and then again I headed it up to get it back in again later.
