I may invest in some Spider Spikes or Chains for next winter just in case. I find that having decent tread on the rear tyres and the heavy petrol tank over the rear wheels aids traction. That and using the manual gears to aid my progress. The ASC is great! It has helped me several times in the bad weather of Britain! But you know what? I wouldn't want any other climate! Mad aren't I?
Living in Rural Lancashire winter does cause my XJ to get filthy! Though luckly there is a great hand car wash I use in Aintree. Its called LA Car Wash, and is basically one of those ones that pulls you through and they wash your car with care

i took the car for its weekly clean and wax earlier today , then took some new pictures for my ebay listing .
i am placing them on here so you can see the small cosmetic improvements i have made to the car .
i took the paint off the strip under the front bumper as it was flaking in parts . is this some kind of splash-guard ??
i also coloured the grill brackets black as i thought they looked a bit unsightly through the mesh .
lastly i touched up the factory black paint on the lower side-sills as it had become worn with age .
all small easy to do jobs , but i think they make a huge difference !! (i'm a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to my cars and allthough the jaguar was temporary transport these minor things annoyed me evey time i looked at the car )
lastly is a couple of pics of my porsche that will come out of storage at last and replace the jaguar for the remainder of my U.K. visit .
i also linked this forum on my ebay listing for the car , so hopefully the new owner will join here and i can keep track of the car in the future .
new pics
and 3 pics of my 911 .....
the cleanest it has ever been (after a £400 zymol valet)
the dirtiest it has ever been (after a weeks "heavy" use )
and a pic of it next to a beetle i built for my sister .

That's a very mucky 911! Ha Ha! Is that beetle in Liverpool? I'm sure I've seen it around the city when I've been working. Its very Californian looking, are those Porsche wheels?
It is very difficult to keep cars clean around here at the moment! I had mine washed on Friday and looking at it today you couldn't tell!
I hope someone looks after your XJ after you've taken such good care of it. S.

hi stu .
yes , the beetle lives in liverpool .
wheels are custom made to resemble fuchs alloys , but in 17" . cost a fortune , then had to adapt the beetle to take the porsche stud pattern .
cal-look VWs is what i'm into
looks like the car might go this weekend .
