Misaligned ash tray cover

I don't know if it is called the ash tray cover or not, but it is the cover that goes over the lighter and ash tray. Somehow, it has come off of its tracks or something, and it is not going up or down very well. It's all un-centered, and feeling very wobbly. Does anyone have any experience on how to fix this?

yes- The hinge pins are fragile and break easily. Either buy an new top (expensive) or dissasembel and fabricate a new pin from steel and epoxy in place. Or if the other side is broke, get a brass tube at the hobby store and fabricate a "bearing" then epoxy in place. Not completely straightforward, until you find out the junkyards know what the part is worth and wanr 2/3 price of a new one, then it gets easier!
