Interesting, does your VIN fit in this range?
I believe you can email Jaguar Customer Service direct in the UK with your VIN and they will return all the details they have when it left the factory, I dont have the address but i'll have a look around see if I can find it and repost.
Cheers
Pete

@TehNam
In addition to checking the VIN details as supplied above, a quick visual way to see if you have a VdP would be to look for an inlaid inscription "Vanden Plas" in the veneer to the right and below the clock. In addition, the badge on the right hand side of the trunklid will state Vanden Plas too (plus the picnic tables on the back of the front seats are another indication).
I believe all Vanden Plas' are long wheelbase i.e. stretched 5 inches or so compared to the standard wheelbase.
If you have a stretched version (rear doors are longer than the fronts) but it is not a Vanden Plas, then it will be an XJ8L.
If your car is not stretched then you probably have the XJ8.
If you still wanted confirmation then post a picture - that will be guaranteed to resolve it for you I'm sure :-)
HTH.
Cheers,
Steve.

Vanden Plas in the USA = Daimler in the UK. Vanden Plas Supercharged = Daimler Super v8.
The USA XJ8 is similar to the UK Soverign. The base XJ8 in the USA has many more standard features than the base XJ8 in the UK (ie. 4.0L, sunroof, 12 way passenger driver seats and etc.)
People tend to get the VDP and Daimler connection mixed up with Soverign at times.
