Default modified XJR - XKR engines

To any of you guys (plus girls) who are modifying aj26 - 34 engines, as I have done.
my last component purchased was camshafts - added 14 degrees as well as increased the lift to 10.5mm, which gave me spring bind --- OOH norty

No problems - cant be that hard to hunt down a set of springs - WRONG

If anyone is interested your standard springs are barely adequate to do what's asked of them in standard alication, inadequate is a better term.
Once you add another 10PSI boost you will need an extra 20Lb seated pressure (originally 45Lb at 32.5mm) -(125Lb at open) it was a new spring I tested
I hunted the planet - spent 12 weeks all through America and Europe.
Crane - Manley - Piper - US$2,300.00 and wouldn't fit
The answer is in Australia
Performance Spring

Allen is the Guru's name - - He has sets available very soon. (I am in no way connected with the company - just a happy customer)
I mention this because a lot of you are modifying engines - if you have your heads off for any reason - it would be money extremely well spent, saves lots of heart ache - time and money later.
Hope this helps
Cheers

There's a user on here called Springman. He has offered a guy on the XJS forum to check all his spring stock. If none available he will quote for manufacturing springs.

He's in Yatal Queensland. Australia. Is it the same person ?

Cams made by Tighe Engineering - basically an Extra 14 degrees and 10.5 lift - I supplied the specs -
website - Tighe Cams, brisbane, camshafts, automotive, Motorcycle, diesel, semi finished
when he made these for me he also made a spare set for stock.
It is the only foundry in Australia who forge camshafts.
Mine have 7/16" thread instead of 12mm - don't know why - Local Caterpillar dealer had 7/16"NF socket head cap screws in stock.
Price for cams was US1,500.00
the other question regarding springs - if it is in Australia it will be Alan from Performance Springs Yatala Performance Spring - recommended
