Well, I'm an RAF type and I certainly think very little of her as do many others in the services. Any Prime Minister past or present is always going to have people who like or dislike them, that is an understandable fact.

Skirting back to the original topic of this thread, the guy in work who was mouthing off approached me yesterday. Turns out his daughter is getting married and he was wondering if I'd drive the bridesmaids in my XJ. Sadly I'm unable to do this as I'll be away at the time of the wedding, but I've put him in touch with a friend who has a lovely white Series 1 XJ who'd love to help.

Last time I checked my transmission was still shared by many Chrysler's and made by Mercedes, same rear wheel bearings as a Pontiac Aztec, same front wheel bearings as a Kia Sorrento, and rear sway bar links off a Ford Contour. All true

Its amazing, and kind of sad how a poorly thought out electric installation can ruin any otherwise mechanically sound and eyepleasingly designed car..

Im not very familiar with the pre X308 Jags, but i must say that if it is FORD that made the X308 series Jags the wonderful car it turned out to be, that every day are standing outside my kitchen window and make my neighbour hate his **** car, then its all hats off for FORD. :-)
And on a sidenote; The Jaguar Manuals are Exellent and a joy to read.

Almost any larger an fairly advanced product today consist of parts made from all over the World, thats just the way it goes.. btw any component in any electronics are most likely made in China.. But that would not make my Jaguar a lesser Jaguar...

Taking an X308 apart and reading where all the parts are assembled is great, they came from all over the globe. Some of the places I remember off the top of my head are Mexico, Poland, Germany, France, Hungry, USA, Scotland, Italy, Japan and of course England.
