Hello- New to the forum with a 1998 xj8 L. When I bought it the small piece on the back of the moonroof was nowhere to be seen. Following the adivce from a post on here, I was able to fish it out with a coat hanger. So here is my question. It appears to be attached to a sliding track. There are small holes in a bracket on each side that protrudes from the top. There appears to be corisponding posts in the main part of the moonroof, but I have no idea how to attach them together. I also don't see how the tilt would work if I did manage to attach them. Can anyone explain? Thanks in advance!
Steve R.
P.s. It did not come with floor mats anyone know where I could get a nice used set? The interior is the tan color (cashmere?) (not ivory)

I found the info by using the search this forum feature and then typing in sunroof. once it pulls up the results it is in the replies to "1999 Jaguar XJ8/ Sunroof Problem" . I found that I could fit my hand in the slot once I got it forward a little bit ( using an unbent wire hanger) and slide it out the rest of the way. Currently, I havi it positioned correctly and am not using the roof until I figure out how to attach it back to the main section.
