Is Motorad a decent brand?
Hello All...
I need a new thermostat.... is this brand any good or should I run away? I'm just not that familiar with thermostats and range of quality. Price is certainly good. (Too good?)

Suggestions appreciated!
Thank you!

Plus, it is "early style". These were updated several times. I would pass.

Buy it at Welsh Enterprises - Jag AJ8-6484 $24.95
Hi SirJag
This week I bought a new Thermostat (part #AJ8-6484) from Welsh Enterprises (online for $24.95 plus $7.85 shipping. Their website is www. welshent .com (note that I added an extra space in the weblink - I am trying to stay with in the forum rules about direct website links). My experience with them was quick shipping and I receive it within 3 days.
Typical price of this thermostat is $45 or more depending on where you buy it. This thermostat is rated at 84 C ; 184 F.
Here is jpeg image of the thermostat:
Amazon has a Motorad listed that they say will fit your Jag for $48.27 - Part #473-170 it is rated at 170 degree F.
Our Jag has developed a slight rubber seal leak at the bottom of the thermostat housing.
Since I will have to remove the thermostat housing to get at the rubber seal that needs replacement, I decided to replace the existing plastic housing before it fails.
I bought the Aluminum Thermostat Housing Kit from an I-Offer seller in New York (part # AJ8-2217-KIT).
I should have bought this kit from Welsh Enterprises (their kit includes the thermostat - the I-offer seller's kit did not include it).
Here is a jpeg file of the housing kit:
Hope this helps.
