Default Multi cyl misfire

Hello everyone, this is my first post so I hope I get it right. My 2000 Jag vdp has multi cyl misfire codes on 5, 6 and 8 cyls the codes that are coming up are
P300, p305, p306, p308, p1314, p0327. The engine will barely run, backfires and dies. Do you think that the faulty knock sensor (p0327) can be causing the issue and if so is there any pics of where it is located. Reading through the forum I see that David N has an excellent explaination on how to change the sensor however my iPad will not download the pics.
Please help

No, the knock sensor will not cause a misfire. I am afraid you have a timing jump. Have your secondary tensioners been changed?
Good luck.

But, I've also seen a failed VCT solenoid cause the same problem on our Navigator.

Like Ross says. Don't try to start the engine again, you may not have caused serious damage yet.
Remove the left (drivers) cam cover and check the cam timing. Rotate the engine clockwise from the front using a 24mm socket on the crankshaft bolt until the flat spots near the front of the cams line up. If they don't line up look at the chain tensioner, it has probably failed.

Thank you. I will check to see if the timing has jumped. I just got the car yesterday so I do not know of its history. I will also check into the vet selonoid. Thanks again

A point on removing the left cam cover. The dipstick tube mounting tab looks like it cannot be removed from the stud. Just leave the dipstick in and lift the tube. It will pull out of the block and the dipstick will guide it back in for reassembly.
