If you did not do a complete teardown when you rebuilt the transmission how do you know if anything else is wrong?

Seems like you cut some corners and now don't have any idea where you are at or what to do next?

Very true, but others had mentioned that just replacing the a-drum would fix the issue. when it starts in the moring, cold, it shifts just fine. leads me to believe it isn't a clutch or circlip failure. when it warms up, upon leaving a light or complete stop, takes off with no slip in first. only upon shifting to the next gear, it shifts, then slips and bumps. if I let off and let it shift, I can give it good acceleration, and no slip... wondering if a seal got damaged, or something with the torque converter. I didn't change the torque converter...

Well I would focus on the fluid level because as you know it's not real easy to get it right.

Are you sure the fluid level is correct?

I'm hoping that is all. I used a level, and a laser thermometer, but I've heard that slippage can come from over or under level conditions. thinking about just going somewhere and paying to have filter and fluid changed again, and let someone else get it right!

Well keep at it and report back. I am not convinced you need a rebuilt transmission yet!
