Default My first Jaguar

I just bought my first Jaguar and love it. It's a 1998 XJR purchased for $5100 with 96600mi from the 3rd owner. Still has the original maintenance manual and window price sticker listing options and all ($67400 new!), came with Sirius satellite radio installed and has all the other manuals etc. Paint was just touched up before I bought it, not a scratch or blemish anywhere to be seen. Drove the car home a 1000mi and the car didn't burn a speck of oil, very happy about that. So far everything has been great with the car other than a few minor things I've come across.

The somewhat bad
-Rear view mirror is shot, the liquid/gel what ever it is has made it two-toned, will send in to sybesma to get repaired
-Sunroof doesn't always want to close, if I hold down the windscreen it closes but I'm scared of pinching my fingers...
-Memory seat positions don't want to work although the mirrors and steering wheel will go into position
-Steering feels loose, noticed the front shock mount bushings are crumbling will be replacing those and getting the car on a lift to inspect all bushings and steering system
-Leather is worn on the driver seat but the car is 14 years old
-Not fast enough, must mod car....

Future plans
-Intake
-Exhaust
-Smaller s/c pulleys, not sure which ones yet. I need to do more research unless people have suggestions
-Get tuned

Well that's about it, I thought I'd put up a post talking a little about my car and what's planned for this little kitty in the next few months here.

Even has the Royal Charter Care brochure with the 2 club cards still in it. I thought that was pretty interesting.

Congrats and welcome to a fellow Virginian. The 98s had some issues, but if you keep on top of them you should be fine.

Welcome! You will absolutely love your XJR.

Not fast enough? Check out the throttle cable adjustment, it may be too slack.

I can spin the wheels without effort with the TC off.
