Default N/A cams in a S/C car

Does anyone know if you can use naturally aspirated cams in a s/c 4.0l? i have the thrust piece broken off my s/c intake cam on Bank 2. I have a set of n/a cams to use if i can. The part #s are different for n/a vs s/c though. The specs says the s/c valves open and close the same as the n/a cam does in the retarded position, but maybe the lift or something is different?

it's possible the profile is different on NA because of VVT. Can you compare the profiles, maybe take same measurements?

Funny that the 3.2L version available in the UK share the same part number, and don't have VVT.

I've never heard of a cam breaking, was there any reason for this?

Or you could try retrofitting the VVT

I snapped the round part behind the pulley that is machined to ride against the side of the 1st cam journal. there is another one like this on the other side of that journal. it looks to be for the front to rear thrusting of the cam. it will likely be ok if i deburr any sharp edges. If the n/a cams were the same id use one them. I did it trying to **** the cam up to sneak a new secondary chain on. ill keep the 98MY cams in mind for $40

If you can get a degree wheel onto the cam and a dial indicator, you can measure the lobes through a full rotation and know for sure.
