need help getting 2000 xj8 vdp to start
What up to all I am the proud owner of a 2000 xj8 4.0 litre with over 200k . I've had the car for about 2yrs never had major issues only problems with u joints I believe that occurred due to 22in rims but anyways this past month the car started stalling out on me at first it would start right back up then I ended up getting a tow home . I purchased a scanner and pulled codes for crank sensors and knock sensors so I replaced them along with plugs the car started and seemed to run fine but after about 25 mins it stalled out again I rememberrd reading a thread that said the throttle needs to be cleaned so I did car started and was fine for about a week . On my way to work I saw restricted performance the car started hesitanting and then stalled out I restarted drove a few blocks it did the same thing this time it never started again . I get towed home . Put the scanner on it this time I got 11 codes p1111 p1367 p1368 p1000 po351 thru po358 . I looked up the codes I could find and its basically giving all the coils . I find it unlikely that all would go at the same time has to be something powering them I just don't know what please help me thanks in advance

Are you seeing any oil leaks from the valve cover gaskets? At 200k miles, if they haven't been replaced, it's almost guaranteed that some oil got into spark plug wells, and is impeding the coil packs from properly sending "jolt" to the spark plugs... Quick way to check is take the valve cover off (either side), and remove them coil pack thats closest to the cabin (first to fill up). If you see oil in the spark plug well, clean it out. Repeat for all others... Eventually may wanna replace the gasket... ~$75 a set... 2hrs max...

Well, 1367 and 1368 are 'Ignition System Monitor failure group 1' and group 2... so it's something before the coils.
Possible causes:
Ignition coil relay failure
From these causes, I'd look for a common connection between all coils that is loose, dirty or intermittent. For instance, all 8 coils share a common ground point - according to the electrical diagram, the black wires from the coils all tie to common junction (called PIS13) and a common connector pin (PI1, pin 55). They also share a common supply thru junction PIS5 and connector PI1, pin 53... so I'd first find and look at connector PI1 (back, right side of engine near firewall), pins 53 and 55 to see if anything is obvious. Electrical diagram says it's location is: ENGINE COMPARTMENT / BULKHEAD / REAR OF ENGINE
Of course, the Ignition Coil Relay is shared by all, so this could be the problem.
Honestly, I'm surprised someone with more knowledge than me hasn't chimed in within the last 7 days, so lets keep giving this one a bump until someone does.

Ignition monitoring circuit between splice and ECM open circuit, short circuit to ground or short circuit to B+ voltage

Just wanted to thank you guys for all your imput and links to useful diagrams , had it not been for you guys I probably would not have been able to get my car started. It ended up being the relay to the ignition coils as soon as I put it in car started right up. Although I'm getting misfire on cylinder 5 . Figure ill drive it a few days and see if it changes if not ill be replacing plugs and or coils
