Checked pins 42 (tcc) and 53 (ign pwr) and suppose to be 10 ohms and its nada so open circuit somewhere. But WHERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Stay with it XJR. You're on the right track with harness, connectors, solenoids. The factory diagnosis for all three codes that you've posted is simple - either failed solenoid or harness/connectors. There is no option sited by the factory for failed TCM or any other cause so, if it were mine, I'd stay out of the TCM all together. You're either opened or shorted or have a bad connector/pin/socket somewhere along the path.

well guys thank you very much I spent the better part of my sunday with a good friend going over every inch of the harness. First off we opened the old external harness and found that it was in fact bad, that would explain the intermittent codes cause the wires in the connector acually fell out of their respective sockets when it was opened. So needless to say when I got the new harness it cured the nice p0753 and p0758 codes but suddenly I had a solid p0743. Thats where we were having a problem locating the open circuit. Believe it or not it got traced to the new harness the pins inside are not making good contact and when played with it would work but the cars bouncing makes it just go back off. So I have to have jaguar overnight me a new harness and this should all be perfect. Sad that it is the one part of the harness that I kept ignoring because it was brand new so how could it be that, lol so my lesson to all you out there never trust that just because the part is new that it is good.

Very good - I knew with some persistence you'd get it. Here is an example where the dielectric grease would have exacerbated the problem on a sloppy connector fit. Looking forward to your upcoming post that you're back on the road with NO codes!

Well guys today I ordered a new harness and they agreed to overnight with their apologies, they are also giving me my money back as well as the upgraded snub for the trans mount. I am happy that jag was good enough to realize that their new part cost me alot of time and money. I also founf that my manifolds have a small crack and I am having them welded tomorrow as well. I was going to gut my precats as well but dont want a code but it would be a nice thing to get rid of those since they are so close to the engine.

Shows that perseverance pays, and highlights a disappointing fact that you can't always trust new parts. Wiring looms are labor intensive by their very nature, that's where errors creep in. The computer interconnect industry is much better at this, but of course the number of units involved is much greater. They also like to gold-plate pins and sockets. It used to be a problem in the tv industry until the Japanese came into it -- since then multiple interconnects have been very much better.
Anyhow, very well done.
