Default Need Sunroof Slide Mechanism (HNA1752AA) Solution

Hello everyone,

I just bought (yesterday) my 4th R-Type...a one-owner 2003 XJR with 60,000 miles on it. It's so new (to me) that I haven't even taken a pic of it yet.

When I was driving it home, I opened the sunroof but the rear (smaller) panel was disconnected and wouldn't slide back in. I checked the forum (of course) and learned how to fish it out successfully. Well, once I had the main panel out, I could see that small arm with the pin on the arm of PN HNA1752AA (R sunroof slide) was significantly bent.

I tried to gently straighten it...but you know what happened (and I knew it would probably happen when I was doing it). So, now I need that small arm or most likely the entire slide but it has been discontinued.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to get this repair accomplished?

Thanks!

NEVER try to bend the arm!!! It is a CAST part!!!!

I always bend the fulcrum pin to get the same outcome.

The TILT/SLIDE mechanisms used to be about $83 each back when I worked at the dealer.
I called my buddy in the parts dept. about 2010 and found out that the price had gone to almost $300 EACH.

good luck with your search.

I was bending the pin...lol. Based on those prices, I'm guessing a bit of fabricating is in my future.

Thanks but but it is from an X350. Looking at the parts list for the 308 and 350, the 350 has different parts.

I cannot help any further unfortunately.

I did purchase from Ebay a kit for Lincoln. I no longer have access to my original order on Ebay as it was too long ago.

Ok found the invoice.

I ordered from: The Sunroof Doctor,11574 W Farm Road 34, Walnut grove, MO 65770-9281, 417-788-2707

Item 2000-2002 Lincoln LS Sunroof Repair Kit Item Number WSRK

Much appreciated but I just got a sunroof assembly from a local scrapyard yesterday.

I would pull the sliding roof parts and sell them before scrapping the car.

Andyrewj,
I’m a new member and don’t seem allowed to PM at present.
If the tilt/slide mechanisms are in good order I may have use for them.
