Now that the Mina intake and pulley is on I went for another dyno run. Bit more humidity than the baseline and 1-2* hotter out but same dyno. Car gained 45rwhp and 17 rwtq. Not too shabby. Did 3 runs in a 1 hour span and all pulls were within 1 HP so it has pretty good recovery.

Sent the old wheels out to be refinished and repainted in a custom color. Figured while they were off I would freshen up the brakes a bit. Pads/Rotors only have 2k miles on them but calipers were ugly. Figured the silver would go nice against the new wheel color.

Got the wheels back today and I am stoked! That BMW M5 Dark Chrome is a hard color to do! Love the quality of the freshening of the wheels too. No more curb rash or bends. They worked them so well and since Michelins are so well balanced there are only 2-3 stick on weights on all but one wheel that has 4. Silky smooth. Please excuse the dirty car, its been sitting in a dusty shop all week. I havent even wiped all the tire lube off the wheels yet but its 107* out right now so it will have to wait. lol

BMW calls them Dark Chrome but really they are a 5 stage hyper grey color. Because I wanted powder coating for durability it was a bit harder. They arnt perfect, I can see a couple fish eyes but you have to be right on top of them and for $400 to fix all four wheel and PC them, I am happy.

I had mine redone for $400 on all 4 also, ...its a great price....mine are Pentas (those are my old crappy Goodyears) and were factory color powder coated though. I want to get a set of asteroids also and with your finish, a gun metal grey seems real nice to me.

I wish! Texas troopers are hard core on that. I speed, have super dark windows and dont wear my belt. I have laser/radar diffusers so I can slow down, they cant see me through the tint but if they saw no front plate I would get that ticket and a tint ticket. lol

The cigarette lighter didn't work in my XJR either but if you install a new stereo head unit you can run a USB cord (or two) under the shifter area into the center console/armrest. This provides a direct connection to your phone for charging without the need for bluetooth plus with most modern head units you can access your music/podcasts directly through the stereo. There is a tasteful single DIN adapter kit available on ebay but some people don't like to replace the OE head unit. IMO the original stereo is just too outdated but the rest of the car is timeless.

Also I have to stick up for the Pentas. Your asteroids look great but the Pentas just seem to better fit the reserved British rock star in a tuxedo attitude.

Different strokes. I like the Asteroids better. Had the Pentas on my 99 but much prefer what I have now. As far as stereo, I am a hard core stereo nut. I was gonna do a simple sub add on my truck and $6000 later its state of the art, super clean and very loud. Full DSP, Helix amps, all SI speakers. In my AMG I had $22,000 worth of components alone. I have poor self control. Lol I know I would go stupid with the Jag if I swap the deck. That being said I probably still will. Owner of Stereo Integrity just sent me out new 6.5 XBL2 motor structure mid bass drivers and also is sending me his new prototype SQL 12" sub that tests amazing. So I am making a custom of olded box for the Jags trunk and I just bought another Helix amp to drive it. My other buddy has some 3/4" JBL titanium tweeters hes giving me so I will install all that and run off stock deck for now. I do have a direct iPod link that intercepts the CD changer signal path for better quality.
Also I fixed the front cig port. Was just a bit dirty. Works great now.
So after I do my exhaust to eliminate the drone I will probably get another Pioneer P99 deck with built in DSP and 31 band eq and get a Helix 4 channel but that will be down the road. I spent 3500 making this car 100% so far this year and don't want to drop $1000 on a deck and 4 channel right now and wont be happy with a lesser deck.

Thanks! I really hate the Jag plates because they make the deck sit so low and stupid but thats my only alternative. I wish PAC made an interface to hook to the steering wheel controls.

Its gonna be a bit though.

For anduha...check out the last schematic for the cigarette lighters.

I actually have a PAC I'm waiting to use when I tear into my steering column to find the prompt wire for the steering controls. In another thread I told the member I've gotten used to the remote and kind of laid off doing it. For the Premium Sound Alpines, the wire isn't the WH R behind the unit like a standard model. I spent 1/2 a day trying to trace them out of the unit connector to no avail, so I have to dig for it farther up.
I glanced at the PAC site about a month ago and they have some updated models I need to review to see if they may work better?

Like your disdain for the low mount of the stereo (I concur) ...I was not happy with the antenna mast, so I went this route...https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...ve-one-103359/

My cig lighter was simply dirty. I couldnt get a power reading with my probe so I shoved a brush in it to clean it and it poped the fuse. So after cleaning and replacing the fuse it works great now.

As for the mast antenna, mine works fine but I pulled its fuse since I never listen to FM and dislike the antenna going up/down.

Love both the factory paint colour and your choice of wheels, car looks very fresh and yet still classic!

I ended up scoring a Pioneer P99 deck (flagship) from another friend for only $500. This deck is $1500 new and has a $550 Matt R modification that makes it even more amazing and also includes both $400 modules. So it was a killer score as well. Now all I have to find are tweeters. A friend is offering me brand new Focal TBE tweeters from his $20,000 set for $1000. Glad they dont really fit so i can order some vintage JBL titaniums instead for only $100. lol

This deck though is unreal. Built in DSP, 31 band EQ (per channel), copper chassis, upgraded caps and op-amps, BT module and HD module. Shoudl really make this system sing! Also the Arc XDi amps are killer little amplifiers that dont use much power from the car.

Here we go again! lol

That thing is a work of art. I would almost have a hard time putting it in a car.
