Hi everyone,
While I'm new to the forum or using any forum like this I have been a long term jag owner. I currently own a 1998 XJ8L in white. Previously I owned a 1997 XJ6 and then a 2002 S-type. My current car has been in the family since it was new. It has been very reliable with minor frustrations over the years. My current problem is the headline has started to droop. I have been told to get it fixed is going to cost about $500. Is that reasonable?

Welcome to the forums!
I think the average price from a professional trim shop is around $300 or so.
But, if your guy is the only one around or he works on a lot of high end cars, that may be his price.
Shop around and get some references from the shop.
DIY is about $75-$100 for materials IIRC and a few hours of your labor.

You could always get some 3M Contact Adhesive Spray, specifically designed for Headliners... I haven't done mine yet though it is droopy..I imagine that I might be able to remove the moon-roof surround to let the liner sag, and spray under it with the adhesive and push it back up to place with some pieces of wood/cardboard/etc... to hold it in place as it sets up.
Is that the professional way to do it? No... Would it work? Probably. Lol
