Hello all, I just bought my 1st Jag this weekend, a '99 XJ8 Vanden Plas with 74k miles on it. 1st day I had to spend $2500 on it, new front rotors and pads, new shock absorbers and changed all the fluids. It drives like a dream. However the ABS light comes on intermittently, but after viewing a couple of youTube videos, I think I can get it sorted myself.
My first job was going to be the timing chain tensioner mod, but as it's not making any noise currently, I think I'll wait until the finances are better, wasn't counting on the $2500 initial fixes. I'll be anxious to read all the posts related to this model.

To get a fundamental reading they should all read about 1300 ohms through the colored pairs . And if you jack the car and spin the wheel by hand they will read about 1 volt AC in the correct spin direction again as a fundamental reading . A functional reading requires more equipment then the average garage as it is like a digital square wave that the ABS module counts .
To remove a code requires the car run above 12.5 MPH in a positive fix condition
This gets the easy less intrusive trys over
Notice the brake fluid reservoir input .
