Default new stumped member

New at this.. new Jag owner.. Stumped 2000XJ8. Starts fine will not engage into any gear unless you push the solenoid on shifter….so replaced the shifter . Didn’t solve the problem.. and instrument cluster not working either … replaced the cluster …. No difference … any ideas?

Brake lights working? Maybe a bad switch.

Do you have access to a scanner that has Jaguar specific functions? I'm not talking the OBDII codes. I have a Foxwell NT530 that shows all the modules. For example, when I had an airbag light it told me the problem was in the driver's seat airbag. Other idea is the XJ8 electric manual is on the forum. You might be able to figure something out from that.
