Default New wheels on my VDP

After 15 years living in Mainland China, finally managed to permanently return to the Island.
Bought the XJ8 a year ago, but now slowly get the time for the necessary work and improvements.

Although in itself jewels of engineering, I did not like the original VDP alloys the car came with.
Used a lot of time checking millions of pictures, finally decided that there are already enough cars with astroid rims, so choose for the XJR Double Fives.

Found a very cheap set on the Japanese Yahoo, and had them shipped to Taiwan (not so cheap..).
Got an offer for USD 200 for beat-blasting, powder coating and clear-coating, something I could not resist.

So, after a fresh alignment job (to hopefully reduce the excessive tire wear in the front), and new Toyo 245/45 front and 275/40 rear, the old lady looks a whole lot more modern.
Only job left are new wheel-nuts.

Thumbs up

Great choice and looks just right. Adds a little sportiness to the VDP without it being over the top.

Looks very nice!

What year XJR are those wheels from? Also, I noticed at the front of the car the small black lip spoiler: is that a stock piece? Aftermarket? Thanks!

Sorry, had a typo, those wheels are of an XKR, and were used ~2001, fitted with F:245/45 and R:255/45.
I went slightly wider and lower on the rear, as I wanted the same wall height and the same shape of the wall retracting to the rim.
That worked out perfect.

I indeed fitted a flexible lip spoiler on the outer contours of the tray plate.
I was intending to lower the car, and first wanted to find out how much I should scrape in the various parking garages and decks here.

However, decided to postpone the lowering for now, as these wheels look rather perfect in their wheel wells.

Replacing the OEM VDP rims with a different set of Jaguar rims really transforms and updates the car. My car gets compliments all the time. I got no compliments when I had the original VDP rims installed.

Very nice. Kind of like my asteroids, but different. They suit the car very well.
