New XJR! Happy owner. Few questions too.

Just picked up a 92,000 mile XJR on Thursday.
Drove it from Denver to Tulsa the first day, and
the Jag ate up the miles and has passing power
that is irresistible! In fact, I averaged 73mph including
stops. The 700+ mi trip only took 9.5 hours!
On the downside, I got fuel which I am sure is of a
very poor quality, which leeched my fuel economy.
averages dropped to around 19 mpg over 700
miles, but I tried several speeds to optimise MPG.
Before filling it up, though, I saw figures around 23.5.
The car is in storage out of town, but I am going to
have some of the fuel system cleaned, as maintenance/
confirmation of my contaminated fuel theory.
There is also a slamming sound over bumps, coming from
the rear, which I suspect to be a ruptured shock absorber
or something. There are a few squeaks and rattles that
the XJ Sport didn't have, but I'm sure a little grease can
sort them out.
The Rubber is 255-40-ZR18 Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric
All-Season, which are the noisiest things I have ever head.
It also makes the car feel and handle like a 100,000 mile
car. I just found out that those tyres were recalled due to
excessive noise a couple years ago. Goodyear offered to
replace them with another goodyear tyre, + a $100 allowance
for mounting and balancing. So, hopefully a new set of zero-
cost tyres is on the horizon. They don't have more than 15k
on them, so I hope that they qualify for replacement.
The stereo is excellent. I was impressed by the base 160w,
but this is a whole other level. Much nicer.
The torque is amazing! Feels wonderful to have so much
punch around town, and the supercharger sounds great.
I was wondering if this car is too high of mileage to switch
to Mobil 1 full synthetic? I want long term protection, but
I don't want to risk a permanent leak, or a new oil-burning
habit.
Also, the diaphragm that clicks with the turn signals, and
beeps when the door is open, etc, is not working. Is there
a chance that it was merely disconnected by the previous
owner? It is silent at all times. No bonging, turn signal sound,
anything.

Thanks XJR02,
I jumped on the car once I saw that blue.
It has a wood overhead console, which
leads me to believe that this car is a complete
custom order. The colour code is JHE in
the door, but having owned a sapphire
Jag I can say this is much darker, and has
much more metallic flake.

Congrats on the car, looks sapphire to me, popular scheme in the UK. My old man's V12 E Type roadster is exactly the same colour.
*The rear knock could be lower shock bushes - also look at rear sway bushes and front end bushes for wear.
*The speaker under the steering wheel either needs replacing or re-soldering for the bong/beep
* I'd recommend against fully synth, go with what Jaguar recommend, Shell Helix Semi-synth 5w30, it's more sympathetic to an engine with those miles, also look at a trans flush and fill along with diff, coolant and brakes.

Thanks very much for the kind comments guys.
I am so excited about the new ride!
Sean, I will look into the bushings when
I get back into the car. The part will
probably be 1/10th the cost of the labour of
course.
I will get a pic of the overhead console
as soon as I see the car again (a few weeks)
I always wanted to retrofit one to the normal
XJ Sport!
