You will find it to be a Love/Hate relationship, but Love wins out. I've been lucky in that I have not had any more trouble with my XJR than I've had with other used vehicles of much younger age and mileage. They can be tricky to work on at times, but this forum will save your bacon most of the time. Also, if you shop around, the parts can be affordable.

I'll throw out a couple things, but by no means take them as gospel, just suggestions.

First, watch for more electrical related issues. I've been reading that a battery that does not hold a high charge can cause strange things to happen, like the gas gauge. I've even heard that these batteries will start your car, but still have issues. Again, just a suggestion. Otherwise, the fuel sending unit is in the Fuel Tank. That sends your fuel level signal to your fuel gauge. On my car, it's found on the back of the fuel tank, which is found in the trunk, behind the carpeting on the front wall.

Another suggestion is to find manuals for your car (wiring diagrams, fuse locations, relays, repairs, etc...). I've got quite a few in my Signature in my My Jaguar Files Collection. Hope these help. I'm sure you will get other suggestions from other members too.
