A nice XJ8 intake mod

This mod was inspired by a topic in an XK (X100) section, where it was made on a XKR. Basically the idea of this mod is a deletion of the intake silencers. On a supercharged vehicles there are 2 intake silencers, while on a NA vehicles there's only one.
The idea of the mod is pretty simple:
remove a intake tube and disassemble it. MAF and air box should be left apart.
It is a good idea to clean a tube now
Then take a sharp knife and cut a silencer. Now there's a hole in a tube, which need to be plugged. I've used a part of the silenced to make a plug. After that i've welded the plug with a soldering gun and intake tube was ready to be installed back.
As a result now i have a nice roar (which can be heard only from the cabin),even w/o exhaust mods, during acceleration. I've missed that roar since i've quit working a JLR Russia, where i used to drive a lot of new XJs, XKs and XFs
Now i'm as happy as a man could be ![Smile](https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Heres a pics of intake after the plug was welded:
