No "AM" Radio after putting in radio code
I replaced the battery in my XJ8 VDP and the dealer put in the code to set the radio to working again, but now, there is no AM radio available. It cycles from FM to short and medium wave something, then back to FM. HELP! Where is the setting that allows me to have AM radio! The REDS are on the radio today, and I want to hear! Thanks for helping me get back into a good mood!

A MY would be nice to know and what country you are located would also help. You can set some radio head units to different counties. Different counties have different frequencies. I am not a sports guy but maybe the REDS are the Ohio baseball team so you are probably in the US.

Thanks for your help. On my XJ that didn't work so well, but this set of instructions did. For those of you stumbling on this in the future...here is what I read:
1) Turn on radio.
2) Hold down the Cassette player EJECT button.
3) While holding the EJECT button, press the AM/FM button.
4) The radio display should now read "US".
5) On the number pad, cycle through the different world regions using the 0 buttion. The regions are: US, Japan, Aust (Australia), Europe.
6) Press the 0 button until the region "Europe" is displayed in the radio display.
7) Select "Europe" by pressing the AM/FM button. Your radio will now be set to European software programming, and the FM radio boost will be activated. FM radio stations will be much more clear and the signal will be much stronger. AM stations will be divided into LW and MW
